The Beat Concert & Music Reviews by Jordan Tacuboy Inspiration at Hillsong United (May/June 2010 Cosmopolitan Chimes) Attending Hillsong United’s concert was like going through a spiritual journey in the sonic sense. Though I sat in high seats overlooking the stage, I felt one with the concert- goers and band below us. Inside the Sears Center was a large yet intimate environment where it felt like any other Sunday evening, only with 400,000 plus people. Thousands of People held hands in prayer, singing along to Hillsong’s uplifting anthems in unison. The audience raised their hands to the sky showing their undying, irrevocable love for God. All the while Hillsong United performed passionately on stage with youthful, energetic vigor. The three singers sang with heartfelt conviction, every song and lyric was a joyous ode to the Lord. While the dual guitarists soaring power chords harked to the heavens above. Pounding drums and bass were the beating heart of the band, dictating the pace of the songs and letting the crowd know, through their commanding ruckus, that Jesus was alive and well on that stage. After going through several epic encores the band finally ended with a touching prayer that asked everyone in the crowd, whether they be Christian or not, to embrace Christ as their savior. I saw many audience members weeping and lifting their heads to renew their faith once again. It was a heart touching sight that lingered with me long after the concert, and was also a fitting end to an amazing show. When it was over, what seemed like only mere minutes was in actuality several hours of nonstop singing, jumping and praising that left me exasperated in my seat. To experience Hillsong United was like basking in the Lord’s love and light. The positive, inspiring message of the music left a profound impact on my heart and soul, leaving me yearning for more. In short, I enjoyed the enthralling show put on by Hillsong United, and would most definitely see them perform live again.Mighty to Save (United Live Concert)Song of the Month...
