This war is far from over and after the success of the first. We will be holding another rally on March 15th, for L. Ron Hubbard's Birthday which is on the 13th, more details are to come. The battle was successful but the war is far from over Anonymous, we need to show them that they are not welcome until they change their practices of secrecy and money hoarding or have their status as a tax exempt religion status removed.

Media update 11/02/08

We made it on page 7 of The Advertiser, the front page of The Advertiser online, No 1 & No 4 on DIGG top stories (24hr) and got playtime on Channel 7. The protests as a whole were talked about a bit on John Safrans Triple J show on Sunday night, but that got a little off topic. This evening the protests got mentioned in Today Tonight & A Current Affair, the ACA article had a very pro-Scientology sentiment, while TT was indifferent towards us, but some what in opposition to Scientology (well, that was after Scientology told TT that they were 'against Scientology').

Feb 10 Protest = Overwhelmingly Successful

I would like to thank everyone who attended the event and everyone who has helped make this happen over the last few weeks, It was a great success. I would also like to thank the South Australian Police for their support and cooperation in protecting our rights and safety throughout the entire event, and to the press for hearing and publishing our voice. This will not be the last of us, we can not let the support for this cause smolder out, we need to show them that Anonymous will not stop until we reach our goal.

We had an attendance of around 150 people, most masked. There was a few Scientologists hanging around the group as well as a Christian preacher at the start. The event was mostly drama free, with only a couple of drunk idiots causing a bit of trouble (they were very quickly removed) and a Scientologist (see pic below) trying to de-mask, photograph and harass me after I asked for his permission to get a picture of him (I didn't get any). Too bad I didn't tell the police the right thing in the heat of moment that could have got charges pressed, but fortunately I had the entire event voice recorded. He was asked to leave the area by the SA Police and complied. Thanks to the anon who saw the events transpire and come to my defense, Scientology really are very intimidating, I kind of feel sorry those poor brainwashed souls.

PROJECT CHANOLOGY PHASE 3

The next part of our attacks on The Church of Scientology is to send letters to all the parliamentary reps to express our opinion on their status as a legitimate religion and their tax exemption status. This is really easy, and all necessary information can be found here.

The tenth of February approaches quickly and we find ourselves in a state of excitement. As everything falls into place, steps must be taken to ensure the safety of Anonymous and the general public. Anonymous asks that you join our IRC servers on Feb. 8th to ensure the readiness of your event and to take care of last-minute staging details. In addition to this, a massive media campaign launched by Anonymous on Feb. 8th will solidify media coverage in order to ensure national awareness of your actions. GUY FAWKES MASKS

GO-LO IN THE CITY have had masks that will suit our needs for just $2.50ea

It has come to my attention that it can be really difficult to find Guy Fawkes/'V for Vendetta' masks here in Adelaide. We therefore suggest you pick up any kind of masquerade mask from a costume shop for this protest if you can not find an actual Guy Fawkes mask in time.

PERMITS

OK guys and girls, we have come to a small problem. In order to protest we need a permit from the city council, which is free to apply for. What isn't free is the Public Liability Insurance that the council requests with the permit. This will be costing $280.00, I personally can not afford to front this bill by myself, I am asking everyone out there to donate a little bit in order to pay this bill and get the permit.

Why do we need a permit to protest?
Because this happened last time a protest was arranged without one.

05/02/2008 - OK, policy documents have been fully completed and forwarded back to the insurer, RGIB. The policy itself that we are being covered for can be found here.

06/02/2008 - Policy has been processed and I'll be receiving it tomorrow ASAP, I'll be submitting it to the council as well as post proof of it online.

07/02/2008 - We have a permit, we have insurance and I got a phone call from the South Australian Police; They will be escorting us along the way for the duration of the event. We have everything we need to keep the Scientologists from stopping us from protesting. JOIN ANONYMOUS AS WE TAKE TO THE STREETS TO PROTEST AGAINST SCIENTOLOGY AND THEIR CONTINUED HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

We are calling on all residents of Adelaide to join us in protesting the mass censorship, illegal activities and inhumane policies of the Church Of Scientology. Over the years, accusations of fraud, harassment and even murder have been suppressed by the Church's legal teams.

The abuse of everyday people at the hands of an organisation masquerading as a church has gone on long enough and must be brought to light. As such, February 10th, birthdate of Lisa McPherson, a handicapped person who died in the hands of the Church. This is not religious persecution. People are free to believe what they want. However, Scientology is not open and honest to prospective recruits about what their beliefs entail. Only by reaching the higher levels of Scientology teachings - and after "donating" thousands of dollars - is a Scientologist told the science-fiction background of the faith, which involves an ancient space warlord and suggests that the ills of mankind are caused by the tormented spirits of long-dead aliens.

Most of all, we denounce the policy of Fair Game: whereby ex-members and those critical of the organization are subject to stalking, assault, and slander. These tactics are official Church policy, well documented, and continue to this day despite what Church spokespeople claim in the media.

On February 10th, residents of Adelaide can express their outrage peacefully - by helping us protest this situation and by helping disseminate as much information as possible to get people researching this organisation's history for themselves.
