The Corning Race Team is more than just a group of cyclists interested in racing, we are also involved in our community. In 2009, the team has already gotten off to a great start by delivering meals to seniors participating in the Meals on Wheels program. These bikes were used by the adults for commuting to their jobs while the bikes for the children were given out at a raffle for use in play and riding to school. This event was sponsored by the Southern Tier Bicycle League, in which the Corning Race Team takes an active role.
- Supported a number of local cycling events raising money for local the Chemung County Meals on Wheels organization. In addition to a local Time Trial in Downtown Elmira, riders also showed up for the Ride for Fun and health.
- Volunteered during the Wineglass Marathon to guide runners through the Town of Painted Post and Corning City on the way to the finish line.
- Put on the Corning Circuit Race for the first time in 2008. Included in the activities of the day were a kid's safety clinic and helmet fitting as well as a set of races for kids of all ages.
