 Significant Purpose Our purpose for working together as a regional coalition of libraries is to better share resources in order to empower all people - but especially children and families in eastern North Carolina - to Read, Learn, Dream, and Achieve! Our Vision for the Future
CORE design-team members created a single page strategy map that will guide us into the future. CORE's overall objective and key final result is to "Create Positively Passionate Advocates." We will create positively passionate advocates from four perspectives: Customer Value, Resource Stewardship, Internal Processes, and Learning & Growth. These perspectives outline the ways in which libraries will provide resources for individual communities in order to create positively passionate advocates. The CORE One Page Strategy Map is an adaptation of the "Balanced Scorecard" strategy planning methodology. You read the Strategy Map from top to bottom to learn "how" eastern NC libraries plan to create positively passionate library advocates. You can also read the Strategy Map from bottom to top to see the "if...then" links between each of the defined "Strategic Priorities." http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=df2trm99_14gv3sx4d9&hl=en The middle section of the One Page Strategy Map and Plan shows the initial goals and measures to be achieved during the initial "crawl" phase of CORE start-up and formation. The third section of the Map and Plan is titled "First Initiatives" and contains action plans that each of the Task Forces are currently implementing.
