This scene is in every detective show on TV. The police are crowded around a computer analyzing a photo. "Enhance quadrant 24," someone says. The computer selects a tiny spot and zooms in. Way in. And there in crystal clear resolution is the face of the killer.

Cool technology makes for fun television. Unfortunately, none of that is real. If you've ever tried to blow up a photo, you know that. When you enlarge a photo, you lose some quality. Eventually you're left with a pixilated mess.

So, the TV technology doesn't exist. but imageenlarger is a step in that direction.It's a better way to enlarge photos. You can zoom in on small features and get fairly good results. It accomplishes s by artificially boosting resolution.

it's not perfect. The higher resolution photo you start with, the better the results. But go far enough in, and you'll get jaggy edges. Go a little further, and you'll be staring at giant pixels. That said, you can get some great enlargements with this handy tool.
