Attention 8th Grade Parents!! I am aware of the problem with getting The Old Man and the Sea; however, since a number of the students do have the book, I will be continuing to cover it. As far as assignments for the book are concerned, I will be handling the problem in the followng manner: the students will be allowed to make-up the assignments for full credit. However, until assignments are completed, a grade of zero will show for the assignment. Once the assignment is completed and turned in the grade will change.

A Note on Plagiarism(9-12 grades): Plagiarism is a very special type of cheating that involves the use of someone else's work as if it is your own. We will be studying how to avoid this problem while discussing how to write essays and research papers. The above link is a form that explains plagiarism and the database that I use for discovering it. All parents/guardians of students in 9-12 must sign and return the form by the end of the first week of classes. I will also send this form home by students on the first day of class. Students, if I do not receive a form from your parents, you will lose 10 points from your daily average.
