hot acoustic gypsy jazz in athens ohio

The Coolville Hot Club plays music inspired by the great gypsy swing music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Jeff Carr and Art Werger have played together for many years; Mark Burhans (a member of the nationally touring contemporary contradance band Hotpoint Stringband) joined them in 2005, and upright bassist Michael Sisson signed on in early 2007.  And beginning in January 2008, you can hear Emily Burhans singing with the band too!
The Coolville Hot Club plays on some Thursday of just about every month at Restaurant Salaam (33 N. Court Street in Athens, Ohio.)
