Roast lamb restaurant There's a restaurant down the road from our work that serves delicious barbequed roast lamb. We highly recommend it. The meal begins with of a container full of hot coals being delivered to your table. Shortly after, a leg of lamb mounted on a skewer arrives, where it slowly cooks over the coals. While waiting, there's plenty of time to quaff a few beers and to eat some ?(chuanr - bbq skewers of meat or vegetables). The table is set with pancakes and lettuce leaves that are used to wrap the pieces of lamb. Chili, allspice and chinese pepper spices are provided in large quantity for flavouring the lamb. Each diner receives a stainless steel knifes and forks that have 50cm long stalks. Why the long stalks? The coals are very hot, and one needs to cut meat off the spit without cooking one's own hands. dinner for 5
365:102 I cooked for 3 1/2 hours today. It totally wasn't worth it. K. was the only one besides me who liked the food. I don't know. I don't expect the kids to get excited about leg of lamb with roasted vagetables and brussels sprouts. Really, I don't. But I feel compelled to subject them to a "real" dinner every once in a while, I mean a big dinner like I used to have on holidays when I was a kid. At least my very first leg of lamb turned out swimmingly. We have a LOT of lamb left over. Poor kids. Seriously, though, I think they'll make it through their mother's compulsive holiday dinners. My thyme sprigs are too big.
