Nikon ED AF-D Nikkor 80-200mm 1:2.8 Lens for sale
Nikon ED AF-D Nikkor 80-200mm 1:2.8 Lens for sale
This lens is to be listed for sale on ebay, Thurs, 11/20/2008. If you are interested in this lens, contact me before I put it up. I am selling this lens because I replaced it with the Nikon ED AF-S VR Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8G lens. I shoot a lot of wildlife, mostly birds, and the VR with faster, more quiet, autofocus speed is a must for me. This lens (80-200mm) is the Push-Pull zoom version. It is the AF-D (NOT AF-S). It is in excellent condition, although there is some minor dust inside the lens (the fate of many zoom lenses, and particular the push-pull type). This lens performs well in every aspect, and is an excellent lens if you are looking for a zoom for pretty much any situation. It is auto-focus, and supports the metering on my Nikon D80 (and other Nikon digital, but check your specs; I have read that it won't work with the D40/D40x). It has a manual focus mode, and a "macro" range (which is in the 4'-5' range, so I don't consider it true macro). One advantage to this lens is that it is a little lighter than the 70-200mm VR. If you are a beginning wedding shooter, or just plan to carry around a lens like this, every little bit helps. The bokeh is awesome, and overall it is a sharp lens. If you have a kit 200mm lens, this will outshine it in all aspects -- most especially in lower light.
