Construction Productivity

A Site for the Construction Industry's Best Practices

"The productivity of a project is simply a reflection of the quality of the underlying processes brought to the project.  The productivity achieved  further reflects the ability of management to understand and effectively implement  those processes." Increasing productivity on a jobsite is not about working harder. You already are working as many hours as you most likely can or want to work.  Productivity improvement is about working smarter.

What would it mean if you could accomplish 2x, 3x or even 4x the work within the same number of hours? If your first reaction to this is to say to yourself "That's impossible!”, you are in big trouble before you start. Not every trade and project can achieve a 4x improvement. However every work package, or project can achieve significant positive improvement by first believing that it can be accomplished.

We have worked with almost every trade and can tell you it is possible, over time, to see this kind of improvement. One of the first things needed is to throw out many of your pre-conceived ideas and thoughts about what can be accomplished and how to do it.

Please join the forums and document your productivity successes, experiences and challenges.
