Connie Milstein on Board of CURE

Citizens United for Research for Epilepsy, or CURE, has  added a new member to their board of directors, Connie Milstein.  After supporting the cause of finding a cure for epilepsy through CURE informally, Ms. Milstein formalized her dedication by becoming an active board member.

The announcement was made by the President of CURE, Susan Axelrod, in December 2009, after a successful fund-raising campaign in which Connie Milstein’s CJM Foundation donated a matching grant which helped to raise more than $98,000 in only one week for the Friends for a Cure Research Award.

Connie Milstein has long been associated with CURE through her personal friendship with the Axelrod family and has helped this organization on numerous occasions.  Recently Ms. Milstein hosted a “viewing party” in her Georgetown home where invited guests watched together a segment of “60 Minutes” which highlighted the Axelrod family and their struggle with their daughter’s epilepsy.

Now Connie Milstein is ready to do even more to strengthen the work of CURE to find better medications and finally, one day, a cure for epilepsy.
