MISSION STATEMENT of CONNECT@TI

[This mission statement was written and adopted by a joint Clergy-Lay Leader Steering Committee and sent out to the congregation in January 2009.]

The purpose of CONNECT @TI is:

• To strengthen our capacity, as individuals and as a congregation, to cope with the economic crisis;
• To learn from and be informed by the experiences and stories of our members as we develop ways to respond;
• To ensure that the work developed in response to the economic crisis builds a sense of TI as a caring community and fosters relationships among members;
• To develop leadership within Temple Israel;
• To take care of TI members while partnering with others in the Greater Boston community who are also working on the economic crisis when possible.
