Confusion Club was started originally by 1995 batch of prospective Certified Netware Engineers (CNE), now renamed as Certified Novell Engineers studying at Institute of Network Technology (INT), in New Delhi. As the participants though from IT industry found that there were too many things to learn from the Novell products and too little external help was available they decided to meet every Saturday regularly at different places. Food and drinks expenses were shared among the club members. Internet was not popular those days. So no websites, no email ids and neither the resources available from Internet. Issues were discussed among members. Clarifications were sought. Later this group activity was extended by exchanging night phones of participants. Members introduced more members and Hardcore (Aptech IT Education Group) sponsored their Jhandewalan Branch Lab room for regular interaction. Whenever you are in trouble you need to just call one of the experts of the club who were keen to help each other to solve their problems. It was a great way of interaction. Later in 2000, Mohan, one of the founder members of the Delhi Confusion Club, re-launched Chennai Confusion Club which used to host sessions every Friday evening from 6.30 to 8.30 pm. Nominal fee of Rs. 100/- was collected from members. ConfusionClub.net domain was bought. Mails were sponsored by Everyone.net. Secure Network Solutions India where most of the members worked sponsored the venue. It went on very well with regular presentations, debates and Information Technology Quotient (ITQ) tests conducted and prizes distributed. When Mohan went to deliver a lecture in Mauritius he discussed about Confusion Club and immediately the concept was liked and Mauritius Confusion Club was launched in 2002. Confusionclub.com domain was bought and later due to lack of maintenance the domain name was lost. Mohan joined in Almoayed Group Bahrain and again the concept of Confusion Club was immediately liked by his colleagues and hence the launch of Bahrain Confusion Club in Feb 2006. Mohan is the link from Delhi, Chennai, Mauritius to Bahrain. However, 2 more Chennai Confusion Club members are now in Bahrain, with whom you can discuss about the experiences of such a forum. The objective of this forum is regular interaction. Exchanging problems, seeking solutions and enhancing our knowledge. Weekly presentations will be delivered by any regular member of the club. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation. People can bring all sort of IT & Telecom problems and work towards solutions. Concept of knowledge sharing will never end. Hence Confusion Club has no end. Irrespective of when, who and where it gets launched it will get great response and become popular instantly. Only challenge is to keep it consistent and going on forever. |
