We work 20 minutes extra each day, which means that once per month we get a whole day off. These days are like GOLD. They feel better than taking an Annual Leave day or a Sick Day or a Personal Mental Health Day - these days are earned and golden and sometimes the only thing that stop some of us from cracking wide open and running through the office with scissors. Today is my RDO. It comes on a Tuesday during one of the busiest weeks of this quarter. It is the most welcome day off I've had in ages. Like an oasis in a desert, like the eye of a storm, like a time out from a wrestling match. I've worked today, because I have so much to do I can't really just not work on my days off but I worked in the morning so now my afternoon is my own. I had the breakfast in the picture to start my day. I had the porridge which was hearty, warming and tasty on a cold morning. I sipped a gorgeous cup of coffee. I read the wonderful Managing Humans by Michael Loop in some hope that I'll get a grip on the craziness that I'm suffering from every day. This was a nourishing start to my morning. It has put the world on hold for my day of respite.
