Lab goals- Get a Google Account so that you can collaborate in your team's Project Management website when it's ready
- Hold a team meeting to prepare for Wednesday
- Reflect in reply to the COMS 463 blog post linked to the bottom of this page. This reinforces your learning process.
Get your Google AccountSend your gmail address to your EC and smit@ucalgary.ca and cbgroza@gmail.comYou should sometime go back and change settings so that gmail is forwarded to your "normal" email address. This is important in case you get notifications from google.
- Feburary 2, 9:55pm: Correction:
Your Google Account is apparently the main thing you need for access to the full range of Google applications (sites, docs, mail). According to the FAQ page, Gmail is not required to collaborate with your peers on a Google Site or Google Document. If you ever want/need one, you can sign up for a Gmail account.
Team Meeting- Designate a note-taker (not the EC) who will submit the drafted minutes to the editorial coordinator within 1 day
- Follow up on progress since the previous meeting: preliminary research? proposal sections drafted?
- Plans for presenting informally within 10 minutes on Wednesday
- Brainstorm questions for Zoe, Erin, Carmen and Dr. Smith that will help you develop audience profiles and scenarios (Redish Ch. 2)
- Plans for co-authoring the written proposal due Feb. 11 (Thurs) before midnight
- Confirm your team's action items and timeline for the next week.
- Each team member should take the final 7-10 minutes of class to write down their individual project ideas, concerns, hopes as part of their Lab reflection.
End of class reflection Leave at least the last 7 minutes of Lab time to log in to a computer and complete this task individually. The poll and reflection question is located at http://coms463.wordpress.com/2010/02/01/lab-3-reflections/
