Ethics application

posted Jan 16, 2010 11:42 PM by Tania Smith   [ updated Jan 16, 2010 11:45 PM ]
In order for students to carry out interview research later this term, we require the prior approval of our plans and paperwork by the university.  This is necessary because our university receives research funding from the Government of Canada and must follow the guidelines for ethical research set out by the 3 research granting councils.

A couple of days ago I compiled a 23-page application and submitted it to the faculty's research ethics committee.

Attachments included proposed recruitment messages, consent forms, and suggested interview questions.

It will likely take 1-2 weeks before I receive a reply with revision requests and another 1-2 weeks before our course receives the green light to make use of the forms in our research.
