“News is what somebody somewhere wants to suppress; all the rest is advertising.”
-- Lord Northcliffe

Want to break Harvard's biggest stories? Break up your proctor's party? Finagle Faust's financial figures? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, you should comp the News Board this fall!

The News Board is the meat and bones of The Crimson. After all... we are a newspaper. Writers on the News Board develop working relationships with the University's highest ranking officials and report on all the breaking news of the 02138. The News Board is not only a fun, tight-knit community of committed writers (click here to see the News Executive Board), but also an excellent vehicle for professional preparation. Recent Crimson News Board editors have gone on to write for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Boston Globe.

After completing the comp (click here to see the requirements for comping The Crimson's most prestigious board), you'll have all the skills you need to succeed at 14 Plympton. Our 10 weekly seminars are designed to teach both novice and advanced writers the craft of journalism. Check out the comp requirements to become a member of The Crimson's most prestigious board.
