Arts

Vincent van Gogh cut off his ear for art.
What the hell have you done lately?

The Arts Board of The Crimson is responsible for in-depth coverage of the arts at Harvard and beyond. What this offers is the best of both worlds: an opportunity to do real investigative reporting, but write creatively in your own voice; the chance to interview prominent figures on campus, but also speak with Hollywood actors; the ability (indeed, the right) to write an analytical and provocative cover story alongside a music video review full of dick jokes.

We publish a pull-out section on Fridays, with features and commentary on the latest albums, books, movies, fashion, food, and arts exhibits. On Mondays, we produce a one-page subsection reviewing Harvard’s latest concerts, theatrical productions, and dance performances.

Over the 10-week comp, you will pick up stories at weekly writers' meetings, learn the basics of Arts writing at Sunday comp seminars, attend fun Happy Hours (we provide the playlist and the drinks), and edit your pieces in-person with our charming and photogenic executive board. You will also see movies before they’re released—for free!  Super cool, amirite?

If this sounds like something you could get used to, sign up here.
