Although most people use Waninkoko's cIOS36/38, it has some bugs in it. Then came in Hermes and introduced his cIOS, which get installed in the slots 222 & 223. Hermes cIOS fix some of these bugs, so it will increase compatibility. It does not harm the Wii in any to have more than one cIOS. It already has about 70 IOS officially installed so a couple more will only increase compatibility with backups. Some tests have shown us that putting IOS222 as global boot IOS of your loader has the best compatibility. IOS222 is the actual cIOS, which we will use with the USB loaders. IOS223 and 224 are exactly the same as IOS222, but it was included with the installer so you could use another installing method (like here by using IOS38 instead of 38 merged with 37) to increase compatibility even further. IOS202 is used by other homebrew, like MPlayer_CE and some emulators, to read data from USB. Required * An SD card (Best results are with non-SDHC cards, SDHC will only work on 4.0 or above) or USB device formatted to FAT(32). * You must have waninkoko's cIOS installed, or a patched IOS236.
