Saturday November 5, 2011--Just received word that Jim Park passed away last night in his sleep at home in Modesto, California with his family gathered around him. He was one great guy and one of the most popular Co G guys ever. He will be missed by everyone, tremendously. I saw Jim at every reunion I went to, which was only 5, but he was there every time. Life of the party, knowledgeable, friendly, loved and liked by one and all.

Others who are now deceased are our former CO Major Donald Mitchell, our subsequent CO, Captain Jerry Morgan, Frederick Fischer, Joe Despres, Joe Nunez, Bob Theis.
This page is dedicated to their memory and our hearts go out to their family and friends, and our prayers are with the fallen ones.
Colonel Quisenberry recently passed away, also. See the Radio Log for details.
Lowell McRobbie also recently passed away, after a very long illness.
On Monday May 24, 2010 the daughter of James Digons contacted me, after doing an Internet search for info regarding her dad (see the official 1964 duty roster elsewhere on this website). Sometime after leaving Co G, he went to college, became a Spanish/French teacher, got married, had children, lived at that time in New York, and was also a musician. He passed away in 1995. Our prayers are with him and his family.
25 May 2010--I was just informed that Jack Warpole passed away, whether recently or not is unknown. He is listed on the 1964 official HQMC duty roster for Co G, elsewhere on this site. |
