Strategic and Organizational Planning Committee

Pat Renfroe (Chair) and the Strategic and Organizational Planning Committee members: Lilli Guttman, Jay Hall, Tom Joyce, Tom Kochansky, Jack Plimmer, Bruce Snyder and George Zucker have been charged with studying, evaluating and making recommendations regarding the main strengths and weaknesses of the OLLI organization at USF for the near and long term.

The group immediately recognized how OLLI shines in its mission of “intellectual stimulation, social interaction, service opportunities, and outreach to the university and to the greater community.”

Challenges surfaced within these latter parameters.  It was agreed that along with OLLI strengths, there was a need for additional work in the areas of membership, volunteerism, internal communication, technology usage, and contingency planning.  The group tackled these and provided action plans for each area of concern.

Pat Renfroe reported at the OLLI Board on the Committee’s recommendations. At this point, the Board would like the Committee to develop a recommended skills data base for volunteers.
