Manage Passwords

Directory passwords expire every 120 days. It is important that you change your Directory password when you are notified to do so.

 

Note: A valid Directory password is at least eight (8) characters in length and consists of at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least one number.
 

1.    Open Internet Explorer.   
       

2.    http://southmountaincc.edu/

 

       The navigation pane is on the left side of the screen.

 

3.    Click on the

       Employees (Faculty & Staff )link.

4.    Click on 
       E-Mail Web Mail Access and Tools

5.    Select the             
       
“Secure Personal Administration Tool.”

 6.    Click on the arrow in the “Select Site” box and select
        “South Mountain College”.

7.    In the Directory Name field, type your name as it
       appears in the directory (usually first and last) and
       enter your current password in the next box.

OR

        In the Memo Address field, type your entire 
        
e-mail address and then enter your current password in
        the next box.

If you are new to the e-mail system, or have had your password re-set, your one-time password is usually N0th1ng1  
6.     Click the Login button at the bottom of the form.

 7.     Select “My Profile”

8.     Enter your new password in the New Password field.

 

Remember:  A valid Directory password is at least seven characters in length and consists of at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least one number.

 

9.     Enter the desired password again in the Re-type Password
        field.

 

10.    Verify that both checkboxes in the next section are
         checked (“Password change applies to:”)

Be sure to check that the boxes are checked

11.    Challenge Questions:

        If you have not previously set challenge questions you
        need to do so now.

 

Each Challenge Question drop down menu contains a separate set of questions. Select the question from each that will be easiest for you to remember. Type your answer to the right of the question.

12.   Click on the Submit button.

 13.   You must Log Out in order for these changes to become
        effective.

This Directory password is the one you use for Webmail, Blackboard, SIS, and HRMS. It is NOT your domain (computer log on) password or your Outlook password.
