Blackboard 8.0

Blackboard is a course management system used by many of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Check out the additional Blackboard sub-pages linked at the bottom of this page for detailed instructions.

Blackboard allows an instructor to provide his or her students a repository of documents, links, and other instructional aids. Through Blackboard, instructors and their students can conduct asynchronous class discussions. Blackboard allows instructors to collect assignments electronically, grade them, maintain student grades, email students and more.

Blackboard allows students more flexibility to study, review and turn in their work.

Blackboard 8.0 provides several new features:

1.  The Content Management System will allow faculty to upload items once and make them available to each of their course sections.

2.  The Grade Center replaces the Gradebook, with new features to make it more usable.

3.  The SafeAssign tool, available to both students and faculty, to check written assignments for possible plagiarism.

4.  Peer and Self Assessment

5.  Scholar (a social book marking tool)
