COMBS BASEBALL PHILOSOPHY

At Combs we emphasize playing the game the correct way.  This means playing with proper fundamentals, hustle, knowledge, and unquestionable sportsmanship.  We strive to excel in every aspect of the game by preparing ourselves mentally and physically.  We emphasize commitment to the team, the program, and ourselves.  We recognize that baseball is more than just a game and is one aspect of many in the development of a young man.  Like most athletics, baseball can be a great teacher and the lessons learned go beyond the diamond.

The strength of our program comes from careful attention to detail.  This includes self-discipline, focusing on the positive, learning from the negative, and being respectful of ourselves, the coaches, our opponents, and the game itself.  As a team, we recognize that no one is above the team and that everyone has a role to play.

Our mission is to apply the principle of working hard every time we step on the baseball field to strengthen baseball fundamentals, learn to control emotions, develop team unity, and understand the game better.  We work to our greatest ability to improve in each aspect of our experience and are committed to stepping off the baseball field a better player and better person than when we stepped on.
