Uniforms

Our Uniforms are German Tracht, Dirndls, and Landhaus (or German Country) Dresses.  We work hard to make sure that all our singers have access to the costumes that they need.  Such costumes can be purchased on E-Bay and through other German clothing vendors such as  Ernst Licht and Bavarian Superstore.  They can be very pricey (adult sizes run about $150 to $200 new; children’s: $100 to $150), but we try to scout out the dirndls we need on E-Bay and within our parent German organizations so that the burden is not so great.

To that end, we have a limited number of costumes available for rental from the Columbus Kinderchor at a nominal fee.  Kinderchor owned costumes should be returned at the end of the season for repair or exchange.  We will also exchange for dirndls, dresses, shirts/blouses and lederhosen, in good condition for a like item.   Parents may also purchase or make their child a uniform.   All girls in the choir are provided a floral headband to match their dirndl/landhaus.  We ask for a $5.00 donation to Kinderchor for the headbands to cover cost of supplies.

Please think of us if you have Dirndls or Tracht that you no longer need or want!  We can always use more!

Our Uniform Committee Chair is Linda Rodewald.  We thank her for taking on this HUGE task!
