MEDICAL TREADMILLS - TREADMILL BELT SIZE. Medical Treadmills
To: The Staff In Pulmonary Rehab... Our Teachers ~ Our Angels This plaque appeared on the wall in my Cardiac Rehab facility in Tucson. It's actually for Cardiac and Pulmonary patients, so I guess it's for hearts and lungs.... These are the sweetest and kindest people on earth... They are also the amongst the most fun, insistent, helpful, kind, and expert people on the planet. There has been amazing progress! Twenty ears ago, I would not have lived through my ordeal... I feel so lucky to be alive! Every day is a gift, and it could very well be my last. It reminds me of the Rabbi who, while plowing his field, was informed by Ha Shem that this was his last day on earth. He continued plowing. Other wise sages have planted date palms that do not bear fruit for about thirty years when they were in their eighties and nineties. Our goal should be Tikkun Ha Olam, literally Repair The World... I have always wanted to be known as a "repairer of walls, a rebuilder of foundations." Each day I look to see if the world is a better place, however small the improvement, due to my efforts, or my having lived.. The jury is still out!!!! Note: I apologize for not having been on Flickr much. I have been working on making my house much more secure... The events of the last two weeks have made it difficult to attend my regular rehab sessions... Life is what happens to us while we are busy making other plans! 100_9582 - Version 2 Treadmill
Treadmills were historically used as a method of reforming offenders in prison, an innovation introduced by Sir William Cubitt in 1817. these were also termed treadwheels. The first private health club in the U.S. was started by Professor Louis Attila in 1894. Cardio workout machines entered the clubs much later and were developed initially for the hospital. The first medical treadmill designed to diagnose heart and lung disease was invented by Dr. Robert Bruce and Wayne Quinton at the University of Washington in 1952. Dr. Kenneth Cooper's research on the benefits of aerobic exercise, published in 1968, provided a medical argument to support the commercial development of the home treadmill and exercise bike.
