Why do I need a library session?

Our library offers a tremendous amount of information to our students. Sometimes it's a challenge just to get at the information you need for your papers/projects.  The library sessions are created to help you locate the specific sources at the library that will be helpful for that course and to get you familiar with the types of things we have to offer.

What are the learning objectives for this library session?

After this session, students will be have an understanding of what the library offers and key resources such as:
  • knowing how to find a book in the library
  • understanding databases and how to find articles in them
  • the difference between library databases and the web
  • the difference between scholarly articles and popular articles
  • how to avoid plagiarism and cite using MLA style
