SHOOTING

Air Rifle Shooting is an extremely popular activity at snapper with a semi covered shooting range. Equipment and instructors can be booked by contacting our Scouting Target Club - see Activity fees page.

TUNNELING/CAVING

A new activity is our Labyrinth. A network of tunnels offering Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and other visitors including adults to take part in an amazing activity. To book this please inform our campsite booking secretary.
We supply the hard hats and you supply your torches, unless of course you are really brave and attempt it without one. This is run by one of your own leaders and we supply the instructions. Be prepared to be a bit mucky. We recommend old clothing (long sleeved top and trousers advisable to cover elbows and knees). It can be booked see Activity Fees page.

Please book this to avoid disappointment.

Covered activity area:
This includes a traversing wall and a large covered area which can be booked for 2 hour sessions at a time - please speak to the Warden on duty.

Activity Zone & Barn

Trent's Crossing is now constructed - you may even see Shrek as you go through the swamps! Or was it Shrek who built it? Free access to this, but leaders are responsible for supervising.

Assault course - the tough one.

Crate Stacking - great fun.

We have installed our aerial wire course - the low ropes and Aerial Rope Way.

There is also sections set up for abseiling. We also have an indoor area set up ready for indoor climbing.

CLIMBING AND ABSEILING

This is offered at great value. There are many challenging climbs on our wall and is suitable for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network, Fellowship and any other adults.

On-site Climbing

We also have members of our climbing team who can take you climbing and abseiling at either outdoor around North Devon or can be used at The Mill Climbing Centre. Below are some pics from Valley of the Rocks where our climbing team can run sessions for you.

SLACK LINING
We have a heavy duty Gibbon Slack Line for hire.
Slack lining has been around for some years, but is only just hitting the UK.

Consisting of two pieces of webbing and a ratcheting tensioner, the Gibbon Slackline system differs from traditional slacklines in several key ways. Gibbon Slacklines set up easily in minutes, are 50mm wide, (twice as wide as traditional slacklines), and can be slung at any height, including low to the ground for beginners… all resulting in a zero intimidation factor.

Please note this is a promotional picture and video, and not at the campsite.

Slackline examples - not all suitable for Scouting

ORIENTEERING
Orienteering - we have a NEW 2010 a course within the campsite and maps and sheets can be booked through our booking secretary. You can also do night orienteering as we have reflectively marked posts to hunt with torches! Now howzabout that!

New additions in 2011:
ASSAULT COURSE:
It is here - the infamous Collard Bridge Assault course - this is available at £20 for a morning, afternoon or evening session. A great value activity - the risk assessments and helmets are issued by the Wardens so please ensure you have shared the risk assessment before commencing and also refined it to your group's needs.  Bear Grylls loved the assault course when he came in May 2011.
