 Colonel John Taylor of the
4th Hunterdon New Jersey Militia

 
Lived in Readingtown Twp., Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
Owned Taylor's Mill on the Rockaway
between New Germantown (now Oldwick) and Whitehouse.

Moved to Steuben County, New York in 1797.
Reputed to have lived in or near Hammondsport,
lived in Lindsley,
was building a house in Bath.

Death date: 4 December 1811
Obituary in the Geneva NY Gazette of 25 Dec. 1811,
states "probably in Bath" referring to Bath, Steuben County, NY
where two of his five known children lived.
