Fourteen year old Charlotte Head finished in an excellent ninth place in the 2012 South of England under 17 womens indoor pentathlon at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday.  The Harriers all rounder took third place in her heat of the 60 metres hurdles stopping the clock at 11.03s, just 0.02s outside her personal best.  The time placed her 14th overall with 532 points.
 
Confident high jumping saw Charlotte clear 1.41m, just one centimetre short of her personal best indoors.  The 523 points scored moving Charlotte up to eleventh overall.  242 points for a 5.53m put in the 4kg shot competition dropped Charlotte one place.  Three solid efforts in the long jump competition saw Charlotte maintain twelfth place with 1,644 points after four events, her best jump measured at 4.17m, an indoor personal best.
 
Charlotte saved her best performance until the final event the 800m, winning her heat in fine style in 2m 38.02s.  The Harrier clocked the fastest time of all the athletes to finish the competition with a total score of 2,240 points, a personal best by more than 430 points.
