This Sundays 53-12 XC races
Witham running club have this morning carried out a recce of Sundays 53-12 XC routes at the Great Notley Discovery Center, even so both courses are covered with snow, both routes are run able. However with snow forecast this week, the club will be conducting a risk assessment of both routes on Saturday, and would be grateful if all runners could check our websight before setting off on Sunday. Should the race be canceled the center has been booked for the reserve date of Sunday 19th Feb. Many Thanks Dave SmithWitham Running Club

Track
Good afternoon. I inspected the track yesterday morning and easily made a decision that it is unsafe to use all of this week. Weather forecast not brilliant and after having a chat with Arthur decided to cancel. Deep snow on whole of track.Please circulate as much as you can.Cat's and hockey have done the same. Lance

Algarve Training Camp
A training camp is being organized by Annette Oakmans coach Richard Pickering in the Algarve from March 22- April 1st. This has been a regular event for some years but we are now invited . Athletes and non runners are all welcome and there will be plenty of structured sessions which you can do or not depending on how you feel. You can come for any time period doing the span and it will be nice to train in warm weather. ! More details to follow.

Essex Cross Country Relays Hadleigh Country Park
Following on from the ladies first ever victory at the Essex Senior Championships at Basildon the target is now the County Cross Country Relays at Hadleigh Country Park SS7 2PP (The Olympic Mountain bike venue ) on Saturday 18th February at 1.00 3 x 5km legs. Although 3 legs instead of 4 can work against us it does give us the opportunity to perhaps take two sets of medals due to our strength in depth. COLCHESTER HARRIERS ATHLETIC CLUBProposed merger with Colchester and Tendring Athletic Club (CAT’s)Following an article in the Daily Gazette dated 20 December 2011, we believe it is time to respond to Mr John Hyland and also to remarks published on CAT’s website. For many years Mr Hyland has advocated a merger of the Clubs for the benefit of athletics and Athletes in the Colchester and District area. A large proportion of members of both Clubs support his view. Essex Cross Country Relay
Will be held at Hadleigh Country Park on 18th February. Men will run 4 x 5k legs, whilst women will do 3 x 5k.As usual please contact David Wright (women) and Peter West (men) before the end of the month if you want to be part of the teams.

Harriers' Quiz Night
25th February 2012 at the Old Court Restaurant, Colchester. 7.30pm for 8pm start. £5 per person with a maximum of 4 per team. There will be either chilli or curry included (vegetarian curry option). There is only room for 15 teams, on a first come, first served basis. Please register your team and meal preference with Rob Gibby. Unfortunately, there will be no entries on the night.
