Ca Phe Sua Da - Vietnamese Ice Coffee Ca phe sua da or cafe sua da (Vietnamese: ca phe s?a da) is a unique Vietnamese coffee recipe. Literally, ca phe sua da means "iced milk coffee". Ca phe sua da can be made simply by mixing black coffee (typically a dark French roast, often with chicory) with about a quarter to a half as much sweetened condensed milk and then pouring it over ice. The coffee is traditionally brewed with a small drip filter into a cup containing the condensed milk. The condensed milk and coffee are stirred together and then poured over the ice. Ca phe sua nong (Vietnamese: ca phe s?a nong) - literally, "hot milk coffee" - is made by excluding the ice. By the late 1990s, Vietnam had become the world's #2 coffee producer, after Brazil.
my first apartment, my first pot, i loved it's sturdy weight, it's wonderful gleaming dansk whiteness, it's simple beautiful lines. i made myself delightful little sauces in it, melted frothy butter for popcorn in it's cup like bowl, heated water for peaceful single cups of coffee. that pot was like a child to me, precious, unique and perfect in every way. of course, you know where we're going....i fell in love. he burned it. i have them both still, the pot, unchanging, a reminder of times that were simpler, the boyfriend, now husband - gets better with each passing year.
