I much prefer indie shops, and Starbuck's strategically locates shops to put the indies out of business. Urgh!) lighting: Behind and at a fairly low angle was a Westcott Apollo 28x28 softbox. If I brought the angle up to 45 deg, I got a wash-out blast reflected on the pot lid. As I lowered that back light, I could control the intensity of how much reflected into the lens. In front and to the left in close was a small Morris 15x16 softbox. (that's the white vert stripe you see) I had what was essentially a black tent built up on left, right and front to control reflections in the pot. In front it was a black fabric on a boom arm. I held the small softbox between that fabric and the pot, aiming it at the cup, but keeping it just out of frame. man of leisure. momentarily.
