DON'T STAY SILENT
Help Raise Emergency Funds
There is a serious shortage of financial help for
victims and potential victims of human trafficking in the UK.
Victims are often people from other countries, so in many cases
they cannot immediately access welfare benefits or work. They can
face destitution as a result. Unable to afford food or other
essentials, these vulnerable and abused people remain at serious risk
of harm.
Don't Stay Silent is a fund which exists to
address this silent suffering. The fund provides emergency financial
support to victims of human trafficking and those vulnerable to being
trafficked in and around Preston, Lancashire. This support can help
bring people back from the brink of danger at points of financial
crisis, by helping them resist the lure of the traffickers, who may
offer the perception of basic security, but at the expense of the
victim's freedom and dignity.
The fund is managed by Codia and relies entirely on generous
donations from members of the public and businesses.
By making a one-off or regular donation to the fund, you
can help vulnerable individuals break the bonds which make them
susceptible to being trafficked or re-trafficked.
After you have made your donation, tell your family,
friends and work colleagues about the problem. Encourage them to
donate too. That way this fund can provide more help to more people.
Don't stay silent. Make some noise on behalf of people caught between
two evils - slavery and destitution.
