A Word from our Pastor:
One thing I've noticed living on Hwy 305 is that people travel at two speeds on this road. Some go about 35 mph; others go 75 mph. There might be a few that travel the speeds in between, but they are hard to spot.
Whatever speed people are driving, everyone is going somewhere. Everyone has something to do. Lives become so scheduled that even finding time for families becomes a chor in itself. Even vacations and "time-off" can be so hectic that we need to recover from them.
Watching the busy people pass my house each day, seeing the busyness that is my own life. I am reminded of Jesus' invitation: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:29, NLT) When we belon to Christ, we can find rest and peace amid the busyness of our lives.
I hope you will come and join us at Cockrum United Methodist Church. I know you are busy (who isn't), I'm not trying to add another burden to your life. I'm inviting you to come and get to know Jesus better; to find rest and peace for you soul.
