WE ARE NOT HAPPY CLOWNS is an experience in which you can allow yourself to immerse into a minefield of different identities. We follow the idea of a woman's desperation to conform to a particular etiquette. We witness the journey of three young women getting to grips with finding themselves - be it through exploring an extreme, like an alter ego (clowning) or through trying to conform to what is expected of women: i.e being sexy, professional and yet not too professional, having a boyfriend, growing up, dealing with balance or finding and having a sense of belonging. These ideas are explored through film and stage performances involving interaction with intricate lighting and a savvy space.
