Leadership Nomination
The District Personnel Committee invites your participation in the calling of district leadership. We are given the responsibility to prepare a ballot/slate for District Conference. We maintain a data base of gifted individuals who have been recommended or nominated for various district responsibilities. We draw on that data base to call individuals to various leadership positions. We ask you to suggest names so that we may build up this data base and keep it current. For the 2012 District Conference we will prepare a ballot for the positions listed in the right-hand column. We will begin to review potential candidates from our data base and your additional suggestions on March 18, 2012. We will then begin the process of contacting these nominees on your behalf, asking them to consider being placed on the District Conference ballot to serve our district. While we welcome additional suggestions for the data base any time during the year, we urge you to email us your suggestions in advance of the March 18 date. Appointments We also welcome additions to our data base for individuals who might serve in various appointed positions, including
| Moderator-elect/Moderator (2 year term) The first year shall be served as Moderator-elect, the second year as Moderator of District Conference. The Moderator shall preside at business sessions of the District Conference and chair the Program & Arrangements Committee. The Moderator-elect shall perform the duties of the Moderator in the Moderator's absence or as requested by the Moderator, and shall become familiar with the program of the District in preparation for becoming Moderator. Both may represent the district for various functions throughout the year. Current Moderator is Becky Ball-Miller Current Moderator-elect is Doug Archer Program & Arrangements Committee ( 3 year term) Shall be responsible for planning the District Conference program, facilities, exhibits, and registration. Includes the Moderator, Moderator-elect, and three additional members. Current elected members are: Lynette Sumpter, Miriam Hartman, and Brad Hardesty Personnel Committee (3 year term) Prepares the ballot/slate for District Conference elected offices and develops a data base of district persons and gifts for use in making appointments. Committee includes one person from each of the six sections of the district with two elected each year. The 2012 members will be called from sections two and five. Current members and the sections they represent are: Section 1 - Carol Pfeiffer Section 2 - Kate Finney Section 3 - Tonya Stern-Gilbert Section 4 - Lavonne Warstler Section 5 - Phil Berkey Section 6 - Mary Helfrich District Board ( serve one 4-year term) Manage and administer the work of the district as authorized by District Conference, to which it is accountable. The Board is the incorporated body and legal agent of the district. Generally meets monthly on a week-night evening. Consists of nine members (8 elected members + the District Executive Minister). Moderator, Moderator-elect and two Standing Committee delegates are Resource Persons and often meet with the Board.
