All students entering the seventh through 12th grades must provide proof of a whooping cough immunization before they can enroll in classes. To encourage compliance with the new state law, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and other agencies will offer several free clinics for schools scheduled to start in early August. Students must have a completed LAUSD immunization consent form and their current immunization record to receive the whooping cough booster. Additional LAUSD clinics will be scheduled prior to the opening of additional schools because many students have not brought proof of immunization or need the booster shot before entering school.
