Below you will find power point notes, readings, sometimes labs and other information in use during the different sections of my physics curriculum.
Your child will use state of the art scientific equipment when learning concepts from the 8th grade physics standard. A big part of your child being ready for work place skills upon entering that world after high school or college will be his/her adaptability to using different forms of technology. The physics equipment includes a mini computer, motion sensors, force sensors, an altimeter, cars and tracks. These items will allow your student to make more accurate measurements of speed, velocity and acceleration under the different conditions I will provide for them to explore. They will gain a deeper conceptual knowledge about physics and be ready to integrate that knowledge into their high school physics program.
Copy the underlined notes from the paragraphs on the top of the page onto page 8 in your lab book. Copy the tables for each station on the correct page (9-16).
HW - Read the "Acceleration & Force Reading" pdf file from the Physics link on my website. Take notes from the readings on pages 50 - 52 (Acceleration & Froce) and 53 - 54 (Argumentation in Science).
Read all about forces and motion on this website! If you don't understand something from class or have a question and/or you'd like to do your own research, check out this link:
Hey Cross 8th graders: If you find a youtube video that explains physics or another website that you like and gained a lot of physics knowledge from, please post it here for everyone!
