"Eagle Pride" a term any alumni of El Segundo High School would know. Fortunatley,l am and always will be a part of this school. Though my four years at this school have been great, they have been tough as well. But what is high school without trial and error. Remember high school is a time of your life you will never forget. Some may think high school contains the greatest times of your life, but at the time it seems far from that. It appears to be four long years of torture. From AP classes to classes you feel are pointless to life, high school seems to drag on. Yet in instant, it is all over and you (oddly enough) find yourself wishing you could re-wind time and press the slow motion button.

 

     As a small school we have the pleasure of knowing everyone and of course their business. As a new student and resident to El Segundo my freshman year, it was not always easy to find friends that I could be myself with. Throughout my four years, I was able to meet some people that I will never forget. Since El Segundo is such a small community, even if we tend to spread apart to different groups of friends we are still able to be close no matter what. If a friendship isn't true, then the drifting will be permanent. Friends are a necessity in life to always make you laugh when all you want to do is cry or just to be yourself with when in the most awkward situations. A best friend is a sibling in which God forgot to give us.

 

    High school is seen as a time of partying and being out of control, but in reality it is about finding your self and where you want yourself to go in life. This is a time of pushing boundaries in every aspect of life. You find yourself testing your parents restrictions and losing interest in schoolwork all together. Then senior year hits and you wish you could go back in time to fix all of the lame mistakes. This is time to apply to college. Thankfully, I was accepted into four universities under the thought that I would become a business financial advisor. Come April and I realized that is not how I want to spend the next fifty years of my life. I then remembered my true love, animals. So I sent my intent letters to those schools, saying that unfortunately I chose to take another path. So here I am attending SMC starting this summer, working as hard as ever to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine High school is over within the blink of an eye, and here begins the rest of our lives.

 

    Although I wonder where the time went, I can not wait to move on with my life to bigger things. El Segundo has provided all students of the Class of 2009 all of the necessary skills to excel in life. The faculty at El Segundo High School is what makes our school so amazing. Teachers are here for more than a paycheck, they are here to help us even on their own free time. After all, what is a school without its teachers, we just were lucky and got the best around

.

   High school is a time of learning not just what is in your textbooks or what your teacher has to say, but everything about yourself. From true friends, bad decisions, to life goals, I have found myself leaving the nest as confident as ever to succeed at whatever I put my mind to.
