I was born in 1977 in Hong Kong. I spent the first 16 years of my life in the then British colony. In 1993, my family and I emigrated to Vancouver, Canada. Since 1995, I have been studying in America, first in Boston, then in Los Angeles. In the course of my twenty-some years of schooling, I have attended, in sequence, St James' Church Kindergarten (聖雅各堂幼稚園, 1979--81), Rosaryhill School (玫瑰崗學校, 1981--86), St Paul's College Primary School (聖保羅書院小學, 1986--89), King's College (英皇書院, 1989--1993), West Vancouver Secondary School (1993--95), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1995--2001), and the California Institute of Technology (1999--2008). While at Caltech, my research work has brought me to Copenhagen for nine weeks in 2002, and to Fort Sumner, New Mexico for three months in 2004 and 2005. From August 2008 to October 2009, I worked as a postdoctoral `engineer' at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA Saclay) in the suburb of Paris. Since November 2009, I have been a software engineer in Silicon Valley. |
