I am a failed astronomer turned software engineer. I now work for some big internet company in Silicon Valley. Previously, I spent ten years doing research in X-ray astronomy, first in an experiment called the High Energy Focusing Telescope (HEFT), then with the XMM-Newton X-ray observatory. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and have since lived in British Columbia, Massachusetts, Southern California and the suburb of Paris for over half of my life.
