I am a PhD student in sociology and demography at the University of Pennyslvania.
I am interested in the role that gender equality plays in demographic processes, such as mortality, fertility, and mental health. Recent projects include a cross-national analysis of the sex gap in life expectancy and a multi-level examination of fertility intentions across Europe. My dissertation focuses on sex differences in depression in the United States over the past 40 years. I am also interested in quantitative research methods, survey design, the harmonization of cross-national data, and compiling demographic and social indicators from various sources.
