The CMCL-FAIMER Regional Institute Fellowship is a two-year fellowship program designed for Indian medical school faculties who have the potential to play a key role in improving medical education at their schools. The first session consists of seven days of intensive course at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana India during January 2010 followed by an intersession curriculum innovation project at the participant's home institution. The intersession activity involves mentoring of Fellows and also active engagement in the Internet discussion group. The program is uniquely designed to teach education methods and leadership skills, as well as to develop strong professional bonds with other medical educators. 

The selected Fellows will return again in January 2011 for a five day session to present their work and also learn advanced educational methods. The emphasis during both contact sessions in on learning by doing. Professional networking to develop a community of practice is encouraged. You should have basic computer literacy to be able to participate in the intersession learning.

The CMCL-FAIMER Regional Institute, running in its fourth  year,  is sponsored by the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), which is a nonprofit foundation of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG),USA. 

Travel subsidy is provided for participating in both the sessions. Shared hotel accommodation will also be provided. There is no registration or course fee. The cost of carrying out the project, however, is to be borne by the participants themselves. You will be able to benefit better if you bring your wi fi laptop along with you during contact sessions.

Twenty fellowships are on offer for this year. While the application is open for anyone, preference will be given to faculty working in India. Teachers of other health professions viz. Dental, Nursing and Physiotherapy are also welcome to apply. Selection is based on Institute's internal criteria.
