Super Sharp Scissors

tools of the trade. LR: exacto blade, my favorite tool (dunno its name), bone, scissors, small ruler (I also use a 12" one), big brush, little brush. I use a soft rag and a rough rag (seen above) and the glue I like is in the little tuperware at the top. my favorite tool has those thin little ...things, I don't even know what to call them, but that tool is so handy. it's a lot like a tiny knife I guess, but it's not really sharp so I don't have to worry about cutting stuff up. but if you press down, it will cut, so it's just super handy. I want to steal it of course. and you can see where I've bent it a couple times and had to bend it back from wrestling with books.

plugging away

got to spend a couple hours doing some handquilting and realized that i was enjoying the work more because i finally found tools that work for me: the right thimbles for my stitching style, some great tiny needles, the right size hoop for my short arms, and these super sharp small scissors. these scisosrs were a gift from a designer given last Spring in the midst of an interesting pattern testing. i love the bird, the shape, the sharpness and the heft.
