personal statement

I am an intellectual omnivore, and am always interested in learning more, in order to add to my virtual "toolbox" of knowledge to best help my patients.

I was fortunate enough to receive my initial training in an environment that exposed its students to several different theories & approaches in traditional East Asian medicine, which has been amplified by my professional and further learning experiences.

Happily, because I have practiced in an assortment of venues, I have been able to treat many kinds of physical complaints, and consider myself a general practitioner. However, I have special interests in treating chronic headaches & migraines -- which I have seen respond quite well to acupuncture & Chinese herbs, as well as women's health issues (menstrual & other gynecological complaints, menopausal issues like hot flashes, and endocrinological problems), which have been a specific focus of East Asian medicine for 2,000 years.
