A Multi-Centre Study of Tamoxifen Dose Escalation Study in Breast Cancer Patients with CYP2D6 Polymorphisms

Sponsor: Westmead Medical Oncology (SWAHS)                    Phase 2

For any patient taking tamoxifen for breast cancer. The study will determine whether the level of endoxifen (the active metabolite of tamoxifen) can be increased by tamoxifen dose escalation in those patients found to have low endoxifen blood level. The genotype of the CYP2D6 metabolising enzyme will also be measured and correlated with increase in endoxifen level.
