Flip CamerasA Flip video camera is a quick and efficient way to document learning. You can film a student solving or explaining how they solved a math problem and post it online for student to review at home. Also, you could record a brief reading assessment once each month. This would give one an extremely accurate overview of the student’s yearly progress- not to mention the great end-of-year gift it could make for parents! Flip makes it so easy to film reader’s theater activities, science experiments, songs, and more. Model a “think aloud” for your students and post it online for students and parents to view on demand. You can imagine the possibilities. These are cheap. Every classroom should have one. Cheap Document CameraDocument cameras can serve many purposes, but for such an expensive piece of equipment, they are limited. Most digital cameras can do what you need.
