IMPORTANT WOMEN IN HISTORY
There are many important people in human history. Many of them are women: doctors, scientists, computer programmers, writers, athletes, artists, teachers, etc.) With their work our lives are easier and more interesting and we are happier.
These are six important women for us: Toni Morrison, Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin, Ada Augusta Byron, Marjorie Jackson Nelson, Edmonia Lewis and Mary Fairfax Sommerville. Do you know them? What do they have in common?
With this Treasure Hunt you will learn about their lives, works, and places of residence, and you will be able to show your findings to the rest of your classmates.
Follow these instructions very carefully:
- Your teacher will divide the class into six groups of four students (groups A, B, C, D, E, F). Each group will work on an important woman.
- Within each group, you will have a role: biographers, work researchers, travel agents and graphic artist.
If you don't understand something or if you need help, visit the resources part. There you have online dictionaries and grammar references. There is also a link to search images and some help to download them.
