The purpose of this site is to present options for backpacking locations for scout troops in the Cleveland area.  Although every effort has been made to provide accurate data, leaders are asked to always check current conditions and regulations before embarking on any of these trips.  There are a wide variety of hiking opportunities in the Cleveland Area.  The ones presented in this website were selected because they: are within a few hours drive of Cleveland; the route is accessible to groups with strength typical of scouts; and the location provides easier and harder routes converging on the same campsite (allowing older and younger scouts to be challenged at their levels).  Please use this as a tool to expand your troop's outing experiences but please remember to follow safe trekking rules and to Leave No Trace.
